AN INFORMATION EXCHANGE ON
HIV/AIDS AND RELATED DISEASES

An exchange of ideas about ongoing or planned projects to:
- reduce and prevent further spread of HIV/AIDS,related sexually-transmitted diseases, and opportunistic infections;
- improve local diagnosis and treatment capacities;
- increase educational outreach;
- improve longer-term care, in hospital or at home;
- change community attitudes /behaviours about HIV/AIDS;
- prepare orphanage resources;
- increase flow of materials, medications and information
This meeting has been planned by members of the Siem Reap Citizen's Research Group for Health, Educational and Social Issues, a local NGO that will hold its second annual meeting tomorrow evening at the Salina Hotel, at 7:30. Two of its international correspondents, Ian Lubek from Canada and Mee Lian Wong from Singapore will also speak tonight.
We wish to thank a number of businesses and organizations in Siem Reap for helping prepare this evening through their courtesies and material help:

A number of NGOs and organizations in Siem Reap have been working on questions of women's health in the face of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, as well as various governmental organizations, medical and educational practitioners in various hospitals, schools, orphanagews, clinics, outreach programmes, etc. In addition, some of the leaders of the business community, especially those employing many Siem Reap men and women, have been sensitive to the community's expanding health and social needs; some will address us today.
